Dual Credit Program

What is your plan for college? Explore Dual Credit Program from ADVANTAGES.

ADVANTAGES School International (ASI) offers a Dual Credit Program that gives current high school students the opportunity to take college classes while earning their high school diploma. High school students can take college classes to feel a sense of individual accomplishment, to earn dual credit, to get a head start on college, or any combination of these benefits. Through the ASI dual-credit program, students earn credit that goes toward their high school requirements; and at the same time, they also earn college credit.

Who can enroll in Dual Credit courses?

Dual Credit courses are available for ASI students in the 11th and 12th grades. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and must meet the pre-requisites.

Dual Credit vs. AP Courses

AP courses allow students to take college-level courses taught by a high school teacher, with the potential for students to earn college credit and or course placement based on the results of an AP exam. Determination of scores for course placement and college credit is determined by the college/university to which the student sends the results of the AP exam.

ASI Dual credit courses are college classes taught by a college instructor. They provide an opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Students taking classes for dual credit should work closely with ASI’s enrollment team to ensure appropriate courses are selected.
